24/7 Emergency Well Service in Langley: Darcy’s Customer Story

How EDS Pumps Helped Save Christmas: A Langley Well Owner’s Emergency Service Story

When your well system stops working, everything stops. No water for drinking. No water for cooking. No water for guests.

For Langley well owner Darcy, that’s exactly what happened just days before Christmas.

With more than 130 people expected at his home for holiday celebrations and family traveling in from out of town, a sudden well system failure threatened to derail the entire season. Fortunately, one phone call to EDS Pumps & Water Treatment changed everything.

If you’re in need of emergency well service, we offer 24/7 support to the Fraser Valley. Learn more about our services here.

A Well System Emergency at the Worst Possible Time

Darcy has been a customer of EDS Pumps & Water Treatment since purchasing his property in 2012. Over the years, EDS has helped him maintain both his well system and water quality, giving him confidence that his family’s water needs were in good hands.

Then disaster struck. The electrical cable supplying power to the well pump lost continuity somewhere between the house and the well.

“It was over 100 metres there and buried two feet deep, so it was hard to find,” Darcy explained.

Without power reaching the pump, there was no way to bring water into the home. And with Christmas approaching fast, time was running out.

A Creative Solution When It Mattered Most

Locating an underground electrical fault in winter isn’t a quick or easy process. The weather was poor, the ground conditions were challenging, and finding the exact location of the problem would require significant investigation.

Rather than leaving the family without water, EDS focused on finding a solution immediately.

One of the owners of EDS, Glen, personally came to the property and helped install a temporary power line that ran through the house and down the hillside to the well.

As Darcy puts it, “They were able to find a temporary solution, which included a cable going through our kitchen and outside to get our party working, they saved Christmas, and then would come back later in January to fix it long term.”

The family had water for Christmas. The party went ahead. And Christmas was saved.

Going Beyond the Emergency Call

Once the holidays were over, the EDS team returned to permanently solve the problem.

Despite colder temperatures and even worse weather conditions, technicians systematically traced the issue, located the damaged wiring, excavated the affected area, and restored reliable power to the well system.

For Darcy, what stood out wasn’t just the repair itself, it was the responsiveness.

“I do like that they answer the phone and that they send someone right away. I mean, you can’t beat that.”

When you’re dealing with a water emergency, knowing someone will answer the phone and respond quickly makes all the difference.

Experience, Problem Solving, and Results

Throughout the repair process, Darcy appreciated the team’s practical problem-solving approach. One technique particularly stood out.

“I got to learn something through the process. I thought it was kind of fun that they sent a balloon and a string and a wet vac and sucked a cable or a guide rope down my electrical line. I hadn’t thought of doing that. I thought that was pretty cool.”

Sometimes solving difficult well system problems requires more than technical expertise, it requires creativity, experience, and a willingness to find solutions others might miss.

More Than Emergency Well Service

While EDS was there when Darcy faced an emergency, their relationship extends far beyond one service call. EDS has also helped ensure the quality of the water coming from his well.

“I trust EDS because I got results. My water’s good.”

Like many private well owners, Darcy’s raw groundwater isn’t what most people would expect.

“I think most people would be horrified to know how the water is straight from the well, but nobody knows. It’s great. They see it from the kitchen tap and would have no idea where it started.”

Today, his water is clean, clear, and free from the staining and appearance issues that can often affect untreated well water. For Darcy, the reason he continues to trust EDS is simple. “Results are the biggest thing. You get results with EDS. That’s what you’re looking for,” Darcy says.
